Dany Schnyder was born in Lucerne on 23rd April 1970. He first started to gain experience as a potential drummer using his grandmother’s saucepans. The seed had been sown. He then moved on to 13 years of intensive drumming lessons and was taught, as befitted his talent, by some of the most renowned teachers around.

Dany Schnyder started his career as a professional musician in 1989. After various appearances with his first group "Ivory", (in the Stadtkeller and in the Kunst- and Kongresshaus Lucerne amongst others), he had many more gigs with different bands. In addition to this, the then still very young musician gained valuable experience with many CD-recordings and live radio appearances.

In the middle of the nineties Dany Schnyder toured the country with his Funk band, the "Blastin'B" and appeared in Lausanne in the Kleintheater Langenthal, in Bar 57 in Lucerne and on the Musikmesse in Luzern. These are just a few of his many appearances with this band.

In 1997 the drummer and percussionist then started a series of appearances under the name of "deep & funky house night" in the Broadway in Kriens/Lucerne, which met with massive approval from audiences everywhere. This was a combination of house DJ-ing and live percussion, which Dany Schnyder put together and, in addition brought together such famous names from the scene as, Hippie Torales (New York) and Mike Clark (Detroit). He also had similar evenings in Bar 57.

In 1999 Dany had several, diverse engagements with people such as Larry Woodley (Soul Funk USA) and the Duke Ellington Cyber Big Band (Bern) amongst others. In the same year he established, together with four of his most talented music students, a percussion band so that they could take part in the carnival in Lucerne. It was an immediate hit with the public and the, YY-Percussion band, now numbers twelve musicians. They have made a name for themselves with appearances in the Schweizerhalle in Basel, the Klamo-Party, the Borg Geischter Rothenburg and in the Schüür, Lucerne to mention just a few.

In addition to all of this he has been regularly doing promotional appearances for his contractual endorsements with Sonor, Sabian, Aquarian and Vater sticks. A further highlight, for a musician increasingly in demand, was the completion of his first composition for the renowned "the high end test record 2 EXPLOSION" in 1998.

Whether, as a Funk-House-Specialist or as a spirited Latin-charmer, Dany Schnyder has in the meantime become famous, not only to a large audience in his own region, but also outside the centre of Switzerland. He is now well-known in such towns as Basel, Bern, Lausanne etc. due to his appearances in such places as the Loft and Groovin House Café in Zürich.

His musical complexity and skill has been built on a foundation of many years of experience with national and international bands as well as his demanding work in studios. Dany Schnyder has made a name for himself by using his musical imagination, by experimenting at every opportunity and, because of his constant strive for perfection. He will continue to surprise and intrigue in the future with his various musical directions and with constantly new and unusual grooves
